Dear People With Allergies,
July 30, 2020
Your allergies can be relieved with the proper air conditioning maintenance! If you suffer from allergies, your AC can play a major role in the severity of your symptoms indoors. If you have restricted airflow, dust, dander, pollen, and other allergens will circulate within your home, worsening your allergy symptoms. Luckily, with the right air conditioning maintenance, you will be able to create an allergy-free environment this summer, so you can kick-back, relax, and enjoy your time indoors:
Reducing Allergy Symptoms
Change Your Air Filters Regularly
Keeping your filters clean goes a long way! Air filters within your air conditioning network will capture airborne allergens, decreasing the chances of recirculation! This will not only help with allergy relief but will also increase your HVAC efficiency. Change your filters monthly for the best results!
Maintain Low Humidity Levels
When your home becomes humid, it can negatively affect your reactions to allergens. Keep your home humidity below 50%. Adding a dehumidifier to your home can supplement your air conditioning system to help reduce humidity levels if your home moisture content remains high.
Keep Your Windows Closed
Not only will open windows counteract your cooling efforts, and increase your humidity levels, but they will also allow outdoor allergens to infiltrate your home. Make sure your windows and doors are sealed properly and remain shut throughout the summer!
Use Your Ventilation Systems
Turn your fans on during a hot shower, or while cooking, to ensure that humidity does not build and accumulate within your space. This will prevent mold growth, which inherently exacerbates allergy symptoms.
